Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Abu Dhabi

We filmed a two-day executive interview series at a fund manager's office overlooking the Corniche, then moved to ADNEC for a keynote capture during ADIPEC week. The light off the Gulf at 4pm in November is the closest thing to a free softbox you will find anywhere.

Our regular Abu Dhabi workflow covers sovereign wealth and energy. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including ADNEC — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Abu Dhabi expertise

Filming at Abu Dhabi's Premier Corporate Venues

Abu Dhabi B2B production concentrates around three venues: ADNEC at Khalifa Park for finance and pharma KOL conferences, Etihad Arena on Yas Island for arena-format keynote scale, and Emirates Palace for premium executive content. Department of Culture and Tourism permits run 7 working days; commercial filming around state institutions requires Executive Office coordination separately.

1. ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre)

Khalifa Park

ADNEC's Hall 8 gives 12m clear ceiling with broadcast-grade rigging on a 4m grid and 3-phase 400A per position. The ICC Abu Dhabi auditorium (capacity 6,000) adds a 14m proscenium and broadcast-grade acoustic treatment (RT60 ~1.0s). We use it for ADIPEC, IDEX, finance plenaries, and pharma KOL congresses. Load-in via the 11th Street service entry takes 8 artics with 24-hour access during bump-in. Power is 3-phase 400A per position. The integrated 4K SDI infrastructure ties into the gallery for redundant multicam. The Khalifa Park architectural envelope is itself a B-roll subject and we shoot architecture plates at 24mm full-frame.

2. Etihad Arena

Yas Island

Etihad Arena gives an 18,000-seat bowl with broadcast-grade rigging on a 1.5m grid and a 32m ceiling at the apex. We use it for arena-format pharma plenaries (multiple Asia-MENA cardiology and oncology congresses), large-format finance keynotes, and entertainment-industry KOL work. Acoustically the bowl runs RT60 ~2.6s with full audience; the in-house Meyer Sound LEO rig is broadcast-grade and we tap FOH at -10 dBu rather than capturing ambient. Load-in via the Yas Island service road takes 6 artics with 24-hour access. Power is 3-phase 600A. The integrated OB infrastructure includes a permanent fibre backbone for full 12G-SDI multicam to a control room.

3. Emirates Palace

Al Ras Al Akhdar / Corniche

Emirates Palace's Auditorium gives a 12m ceiling with broadcast-grade rigging and 1,200-seat capacity. The ballroom complex adds Auditorium 1 (7m ceiling) for KOL fireside formats. We use it for finance KOL gala-format content (multiple ADIA, Mubadala-adjacent events) and pharma medical affairs work where venue aesthetic is dominant. Acoustically the auditorium is professional (RT60 ~1.0s). Load-in via the West Corniche Road service entry is constrained: freight elevator at 3.2m wide and 24-hour notice required with security accreditation. Power is 3-phase 250A per position. The palace exterior is itself a B-roll subject for executive intros at 35mm full-frame with the Corniche backdrop.

UAE pharma KOL deliverables for MOHAP and DHA-aligned audiences need Arabic and English-language passes; Gulf-region pharma distribution increasingly requires Khaleeji Arabic dialect voiceover for HCP-facing content, which we book through Abu Dhabi or Dubai-based VO talent rather than Cairo-based MSA.

Abu Dhabi's Video Production Market

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE and one of the world's wealthiest cities, home to sovereign wealth giants like ADIA and Mubadala, the headquarters of ADNOC, and a rapidly diversifying economy spanning energy, finance, defence, and technology. From the financial hub of Al Maryah Island to the cultural landmark of Saadiyat, B2B brands in energy, sovereign wealth, defence tech, and healthcare compete for attention in a market backed by trillions in sovereign assets. ADNEC hosts ADIPEC and other world-class trade shows, making professional video content essential for brands targeting Abu Dhabi's government and enterprise decision-makers.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Abu Dhabi's B2B audience expects premium, world-class content. Video on LinkedIn MENA delivers 4x the engagement of text posts. For Abu Dhabi's energy, government, and financial sectors, a polished corporate film serves ministerial presentations, trade show screens, LinkedIn campaigns, and investor relations. We deliver in every format — from vertical social cuts to 4K broadcast masters — ensuring your production budget works across Arabic and English-speaking channels.

Equipment & Crew

Our Abu Dhabi crews shoot on Sony FX6 and RED Komodo cinema cameras with Zeiss CP.3 and Sony G Master lenses. We carry Aputure 600d lighting, DJI RS3 Pro stabilisers, Sennheiser wireless audio, and DJI Mavic 3 Pro drones (subject to GCAA regulations). Every setup is built for Abu Dhabi's desert conditions — managing intense sunlight, sand and heat, and the transitions between outdoor environments and the emirate's spectacular air-conditioned venues.

Coverage Area

Our crew is based in Abu Dhabi but we cover the entire UAE — Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah — and the wider GCC including Doha, Riyadh, and Bahrain. Multi-city Middle Eastern shoots are coordinated from our Abu Dhabi hub, giving you one point of contact, consistent quality, and a single invoice.
