Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Brussels

We shot a multi-day public affairs film series with stakeholders across Rue de la Loi, then captured a pharma stakeholder panel at SQUARE. Brussels productions live or die on access to people whose calendars do not bend.

Our regular Brussels workflow covers policy, EU institutions, and pharma. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including SQUARE Brussels Convention Centre — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Brussels expertise

Filming at Brussels's Premier Corporate Venues

Brussels B2B production concentrates around three precincts: Brussels Expo at Heysel for trade-show scale, Square Brussels in the city centre for EU-institutional and pharma KOL work, and Tour & Taxis at Laeken for industrial-aesthetic launches and trade. Ville de Bruxelles permits run 15 working days; EU institutional sites have separate Commission press accreditation requirements.

1. Brussels Expo (Palais)

Heysel / Laeken

Brussels Expo Palais 5 gives 11m clear ceiling with 6m grid rigging and 3-phase 400A per position. We use it for industrial trade (Seafood Expo Global, Batibouw) and pharma congresses. The Palais 12 (a fully renovated 1958 World's Fair pavilion) adds a 25,000-seat plenary configuration with a 22m domed ceiling — we shoot KOL plenary keynotes here with a fully-rigged broadcast grid at 18m. Acoustically the dome rings at RT60 ~2.8s on speech; we tap FOH at -10 dBu rather than capturing ambient. Load-in via the Avenue Impératrice Charlotte dock takes 12 artics with 24-hour access.

2. Square Brussels Meeting Centre

Mont des Arts

Square Brussels' Copper Hall and Silver Hall give purpose-built conference acoustics (RT60 ~1.0s) with broadcast-grade rigging on a 4m grid. We use it for EU institutional KOL work (EMA-adjacent, EFPIA-aligned events) and finance conferences. The integrated 4K SDI infrastructure ties into a venue-supplied control room we routinely augment with our own ISO recorders. Load-in via the Place de l'Albertine service entry is constrained: 3.6m dock height and 7.5 tonnes per truck. Power is 3-phase 200A per position. The Mont des Arts B-roll plate from the foyer terrace is a signature Brussels cutaway.

3. Tour & Taxis

Laeken / Canal

Tour & Taxis (the historic customs warehouse complex) gives industrial-cast-iron envelopes at 11m clear ceiling with daylight from the saw-tooth roof. We use the Sheds and the Hôtel des Douanes for finance and SaaS launch keynotes where the aesthetic is dominant. Acoustically the spaces run RT60 ~2.7s — full drape treatment and Tube Traps mandatory. Load-in via the Quai des Péniches dock takes 4 artics. Power is 3-phase 250A on event-day shore connection (the historic structure has limited permanent supply). The architectural envelope is itself a B-roll subject and we shoot wide masters at 16mm full-frame to capture the cast-iron column rhythm.

Brussels pharma KOL deliverables for EMA-aligned EU audiences need French, Dutch, and English language passes locked to time-code; EFPIA disclosure supers run as separate ISO inserts we shoot at 4K UHD oversample.

Absolutely. We regularly coordinate multi-country shoots for enterprise clients, covering up to 8+ countries per project. Brussels's Video Production Market

Brussels is the de facto capital of the European Union, hosting the European Commission, Parliament, NATO, and over 1,500 international organisations. The European Quarter alone contains more decision-makers per square kilometre than almost anywhere on earth. For B2B brands in policy, pharma, defence, and institutional affairs, professional video content is the fastest way to reach stakeholders across the EU. From policy launch events at Square Brussels to corporate retreats along Avenue Louise, video drives engagement in this multilingual, high-stakes market.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

EU institutional and corporate audiences consume vast amounts of video content — from policy briefings to stakeholder updates. Video posts on LinkedIn deliver 3x higher engagement across the Benelux region compared to static content. For Brussels-based organisations, a single well-produced film can serve committee presentations, social media campaigns, event recaps, and internal communications in multiple languages. We deliver in every format, ensuring your production budget works across channels and language versions.

Equipment & Crew

Our Brussels crews shoot on Sony FX6 and RED Komodo cinema cameras with Zeiss CP.3 and Canon CN-E lenses. We carry Aputure 600d lighting, DJI RS3 Pro stabilisers, Sennheiser wireless audio, and DJI Mavic 3 Pro drones for aerial work. Every setup is built for Brussels' varied environments — from the glass-walled EU institutions to historic venues like Bozar and the Grand Place.

Coverage Area

Our crew is based in Brussels but we cover all of Belgium — Antwerp, Ghent, Liège, Bruges — and the wider Benelux region including Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Multi-city European shoots spanning Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London are coordinated from our Brussels hub, giving you one point of contact, consistent quality, and a single invoice.
