Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Milan

We filmed a luxury fashion supply chain documentary across Porta Nuova showrooms and a Tortona post-production studio. Milan's design-trade calendar bunches around Fashion Week and Salone, and crew availability tightens accordingly.

Our regular Milan workflow covers fashion, design, and pharma. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including MiCo — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Milan expertise

Filming at Milan's Premier Corporate Venues

Milan B2B production concentrates around three precincts: Fiera Milano Rho for trade-show scale (Salone del Mobile, Host, EICMA), MiCo for medical and pharma congresses, and a tier of central venues in Brera and the Quadrilatero for executive and fashion-adjacent KOL formats. Comune di Milano permits run 10 working days; Salone del Mobile week (April) makes crew and kit availability the dominant scheduling constraint.

1. Fiera Milano Rho

Rho-Pero

Fiera Rho's Pavilions 7–8 give 13m clear ceiling with 50t-rated rigging on a 6m grid and 3-phase 400A per position. For Salone del Mobile and EICMA-adjacent work we build KOL studios off the show floor using black duvateen on 5m uprights. Acoustically the pavilions run RT60 ~2.7s open and every KOL is hardwired DPA 4080. Load-in via the Strada Statale Sempione service road runs to 20+ artic bays with 24-hour access during bump-in. The fairgrounds are 14km north-west of central Milan; we always pre-stage crew accommodation in Rho-Pero rather than fighting Centrale traffic at 6am bump-in calls.

2. MiCo Milano Congressi

Portello / CityLife

MiCo's Auditorium gives an 18m ceiling and 1,500-seat capacity with broadcast-grade rigging on a 4m grid. It is the largest congress centre in Europe by floorspace, and for ESC (European Society of Cardiology) and similar medical congresses we deliver multi-day KOL capture across 8+ breakout rooms with venue-supplied 4K SDI tie-ins. Acoustic treatment in the Auditorium is professional (RT60 ~1.0s). Load-in via the Viale Eginardo dock takes 6 artics with 24-hour access. Power is 3-phase 400A per position. The smaller breakouts (Spazi Gold A–E) run RT60 ~0.8s and are our preferred HCP-facing studios.

3. Palazzo Mezzanotte (Borsa Italiana)

Centro Storico / Cordusio

Palazzo Mezzanotte's Sala Convegni gives a 1930s rationalist aesthetic that reads premium for finance KOL fireside content. Ceiling is 8m under a coffered marble treatment with strong daylight from the north-facing high windows. Acoustically the room is bright (RT60 ~1.5s on marble) and we lay sound blankets behind camera and double-skin the talent area with duvateen. Load-in via Piazza degli Affari is the constraint: no dedicated dock, freight elevator at 1.9m wide and ZTL restrictions on vehicles above 7.5 tonnes during business hours. We split kit across two Sprinter vans and book the dock window via Borsa Italiana 10 working days ahead.

Italian pharma KOL deliverables for AIFA-aligned audiences need an Italian voiceover pass plus credentialed disclaimers as separate ISO supers; we lock these to time-code at the rough-cut stage to keep medical affairs sign-off on schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring a videographer in Milan.

Corporate video production in Milan typically ranges from €2,500 for a single-camera interview setup to €20,000+ for a multi-day brand film shoot. Most B2B projects we deliver fall in the €5,000–€12,000 range, covering pre-production, a full shoot day, and professional post-production. We provide fixed pricing on every quote so there are no surprises on the invoice.
We can mobilise a full production crew in Milan within 24–48 hours for urgent briefs. Our crew is based locally and covers every major district and venue. For planned shoots we typically schedule 1–2 weeks ahead for proper pre-production and any required permit coordination.
Yes. Commercial filming in Milan requires permits from the Comune di Milano, coordinated through the Milan Film Commission. Applications should be submitted at least 10 working days in advance through the SUAP (Sportello Unico Attività Produttive). We handle all permit applications, occupazione suolo pubblico requests, Polizia Locale coordination, and insurance documentation on your behalf. For small crews with handheld equipment, filming on public streets generally does not require a formal permit. Shoots at Fiera Milano or the MiCo require separate venue arrangements.
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate multi-country shoots for enterprise clients, covering up to 8+ countries per project. Milan serves as one of our key regional hubs, and we have trusted local crews in every major city worldwide. You get one point of contact, consistent brand quality, and a single consolidated invoice regardless of how many locations are involved.
Every project includes two full rounds of revisions at no extra cost. The first round covers structural edits — pacing, scene order, and content changes. The second round handles fine-tuning — colour grading adjustments, audio levels, text overlays, and final polish. Additional revision rounds can be arranged if needed and are quoted transparently upfront.
We deliver in every format you need. Standard deliverables include high-resolution MP4 (H.264 and H.265) for web and broadcast, plus optimised versions for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and internal platforms. We also provide ProRes masters for archival and further editing. All files delivered via secure cloud transfer within the agreed timeline.

Milan's Video Production Market

Milan is Italy’s financial and business capital, generating approximately 10% of the country’s GDP. The Porta Nuova district has transformed Milan’s skyline with the UniCredit Tower (Italy’s tallest building) anchoring a modern business quarter that houses the headquarters of UniCredit, BNP Paribas Italy, and Samsung Italia. CityLife, the second major urban regeneration project, hosts the towers of Generali, Allianz, and PwC Italy. Milan’s economy spans fashion and luxury (the Quadrilatero della Moda), financial services (Borsa Italiana, Mediobanca, Intesa Sanpaolo), pharmaceuticals (Bracco, Zambon, and regional offices of global pharma companies), and a growing technology sector. The city hosts major B2B events at Fiera Milano (one of Europe’s largest exhibition centres) and the MiCo (Milano Congressi), including the Salone del Mobile, EICMA, and Host Milano. While Milan has a world-class creative production industry, the B2B enterprise niche remains underserved, especially for English-language corporate content.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Milan’s role as Italy’s undisputed business capital makes professional video essential for enterprises competing in domestic and European markets. LinkedIn is the primary B2B platform in Italy, and video posts generate 5x more engagement than text. For financial institutions in Porta Nuova, pharma companies across the city, and the growing tech sector, professional video builds the international credibility that Italian businesses need when engaging with global partners and clients. A single shoot day produces a brand film, executive interviews, and social clips in Italian and English. The ROI is strong for Fiera Milano exhibitors and for pharma companies needing medical education and conference coverage content.

Equipment & Crew

We shoot on cinema-grade Sony FX6 and FX9 camera systems paired with Zeiss and Sony G Master prime lenses. For conference work at Fiera Milano, MiCo, and major hotel venues, we deploy multi-camera rigs with wireless audio systems (Sennheiser EW and DPA lavaliers). Our standard Milan crew consists of a director/camera operator, sound recordist, and production assistant. All footage is backed up on-set, and post-production includes Italian and English subtitle and graphics capabilities in-house.

Coverage Area

We cover all of Milan and the wider Lombardy region without travel surcharges. Regular shooting locations include Porta Nuova, CityLife, the Quadrilatero della Moda, Brera, Bicocca (university and innovation district), and Assago. We cover Fiera Milano (Rho), MiCo, the Principe di Savoia, the Armani Hotel Milano, and the Excelsior Hotel Gallia. Beyond Milan, we serve clients in Monza, Bergamo, Brescia, and the Lake Como corporate retreat circuit. For pan-European projects, we coordinate crews in Rome, Paris, Zurich, Munich, and across the continent.
