Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Oslo

We filmed an Equinor executive series across two Bjørvika towers with a parallel sit-down at Aker Brygge. The Oslo Fjord at blue hour in February is the cleanest natural backdrop we work with in Scandinavia.

Our regular Oslo workflow covers energy, maritime, and sovereign wealth. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including Oslo Spektrum — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Oslo expertise

Filming at Oslo's Premier Corporate Venues

Oslo B2B production concentrates around three venues: Oslo Spektrum in Grønland for arena-format keynote scale, Norges Varemesse in Lillestrøm for industrial trade, and Clarion Hotel The Hub in Sentrum for finance and pharma KOL conference formats. Oslo kommune permits run 10 working days; Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen public-space filming requires district coordination.

1. Oslo Spektrum

Grønland / Sentrum

Oslo Spektrum gives an 11,000-seat bowl with broadcast-grade rigging on a 1.5m grid and 22m ceiling at the apex. We use it for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert legacy production scale, large-format finance keynotes (multiple Norges Bank-adjacent events), and pharma KOL plenaries. Acoustically the bowl runs RT60 ~2.4s with full audience; the in-house Meyer Sound rig is broadcast-grade and we tap FOH at -10 dBu rather than capturing ambient. Load-in via the Sonja Henies Plass service entry takes 4 artics. Power is 3-phase 600A. The venue's central Sentrum location simplifies crew transit; Oslo Sentralstasjon is 200m away.

2. Norges Varemesse / Norway Trade Fairs

Lillestrøm

Norges Varemesse's Hall E gives 11m clear ceiling with 4m grid rigging and 3-phase 400A per position. We use it for Eliaden, Oslo Innovation Week-aligned events, and industrial trade. Acoustically the halls run RT60 ~2.6s open and every KOL is hardwired DPA 4080. Load-in via the Messeveien service entry takes 6 artics with 24-hour access during bump-in. The venue is 18km north-east of central Oslo in Lillestrøm — direct rail connection at 13 minutes from Oslo S simplifies crew transit, but kit goes by truck and we always pre-stage the day before bump-in calls. Power is 3-phase 400A per position.

3. Clarion Hotel The Hub

Sentrum

Clarion The Hub's Pillar Hall gives a 6m ceiling with rigged points on a 3m grid and 1,000-seat banquet capacity (the largest hotel ballroom in Norway). We use it for finance and pharma KOL fireside content where central Oslo location is essential. Acoustically the ballroom is well-treated (RT60 ~0.9s) and runs clean DPA 6066s. Load-in via the Biskop Gunnerus' gate service entry is constrained: freight elevator at 2.6m wide and 24-hour notice required. Power is 3-phase 200A per ballroom. The hotel's central Sentrum location gives crew transit advantages and Oslo Sentralstasjon is 50m away.

Norwegian pharma KOL deliverables for SLV-aligned audiences need Norwegian Bokmål voiceover with name-card supers in standard Norwegian; we lock the Norwegian and English language tracks to time-code at the rough-cut stage. Nynorsk variant is optional but increasingly requested for western Norway distribution.

Oslo's Video Production Market

Oslo is the capital of Norway and a global centre for energy, maritime, and sovereign wealth — home to Equinor, the Government Pension Fund Global (the world's largest sovereign wealth fund), and a growing tech startup scene in Bjørvika. From the waterfront innovation district to the established offices of Lysaker, B2B brands in oil and gas, shipping, fintech, and cleantech compete for attention in one of the world's wealthiest economies per capita. Professional video content is essential for brands targeting Norwegian and wider Nordic enterprise decision-makers.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Norwegian B2B audiences expect premium, understated quality — and video delivers. LinkedIn Norway reports 4x higher engagement on video posts versus static content. For Oslo's energy, maritime, and financial sectors, a polished corporate film serves investor updates, trade show presentations, LinkedIn campaigns, and recruitment content. We deliver in every format, ensuring your production budget compounds across Nordic and international channels.

Equipment & Crew

Our Oslo crews shoot on Sony FX6 and RED Komodo cinema cameras with Zeiss CP.3 and Sony G Master lenses. We carry Aputure 600d lighting, DJI RS3 Pro stabilisers, Sennheiser wireless audio, and DJI Mavic 3 Pro drones for aerial work. Every setup is designed for Norwegian conditions — maximising the dramatic Nordic light and managing low-light winter shoots with professional lighting rigs.

Coverage Area

Our crew is based in Oslo but we cover all of Norway — Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, and Tromsø. Multi-city Nordic shoots spanning Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Helsinki are coordinated from our Oslo hub, giving you one point of contact, consistent quality, and a single invoice.
