Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Riyadh

We crewed LEAP 2025 at the Riyadh Front and ran a parallel executive studio in a KAFD tower. Filming permits in Riyadh require GCAM clearance and we keep that workflow continuously updated with our local fixer.

Our regular Riyadh workflow covers Vision 2030, energy, and sovereign wealth. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Riyadh expertise

Filming at Riyadh's Premier Corporate Venues

Riyadh B2B production concentrates around three venues: Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center near KAEC for the workhorse pharma and finance conferences, KAFD Conference Center for finance and policy KOL formats, and Ritz-Carlton Riyadh for premium executive content. GCAM permits run 10 working days; Vision 2030-aligned content has separate Royal Court coordination.

1. Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center

Riyadh Front / Al Marwah

Riyadh Front's Hall 1 gives 11m clear ceiling with broadcast-grade rigging on a 4m grid and 3-phase 400A per position. We use it for LEAP, Black Hat MEA, finance plenaries (multiple PIF, SCA-aligned events), and pharma KOL congresses. Acoustically the halls run RT60 ~2.5s open and every KOL is hardwired DPA 4080. Load-in via the Eastern Ring Road service entry takes 8 artics with 24-hour access during bump-in. Power is 3-phase 400A per position. The conference auditorium adjacent gives a 9m ceiling for HCP-facing breakout work with RT60 ~1.0s acoustic treatment and integrated 4K SDI tie-ins.

2. KAFD Conference Center

King Abdullah Financial District

KAFD Conference Center gives an 8m ceiling in the main auditorium with broadcast-grade rigging and 1,800-seat capacity. We use it for finance KOL work, Saudi Capital Markets Authority-aligned events, and policy plenaries where the KAFD location reinforces the venue brand. Acoustic treatment is professional (RT60 ~1.0s) and runs clean off-axis lavs. Load-in via the King Fahd Road service entry is constrained: 3.6m dock height and 7.5 tonnes per truck. Power is 3-phase 250A per position. The KAFD towers exterior is itself a B-roll subject — we shoot architecture plates at 24mm full-frame with the financial district as backdrop for finance deliverables.

3. Ritz-Carlton Riyadh

Diplomatic Quarter

Ritz-Carlton's Grand Ballroom gives a 7.4m ceiling with rigged points on a 3m grid and 1,500 sq m clear span. We use it for finance and pharma KOL fireside content (multiple Saudi MoH and SFDA-aligned medical affairs events) and government-adjacent executive work. Acoustically the ballroom is well-treated (RT60 ~0.9s) and runs clean DPA 6066s. Load-in via the Mecca Road service entry is constrained: freight elevator at 3.0m wide and 24-hour notice required with security accreditation. Power is 3-phase 250A per ballroom. The hotel's gardens give a B-roll plate that reads as the venue itself rather than the surrounding city — useful when geographic neutrality is a creative brief.

Saudi pharma KOL deliverables for SFDA-aligned audiences need Arabic voiceover with name-card supers in standard Arabic script; we capture credentialed cutaways as separate 4K ISOs to allow clean right-to-left supers without typographic fallback issues, and lock both Arabic and English masters to time-code at rough-cut.

Riyadh's Video Production Market

Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia and the engine of Vision 2030 — the Kingdom's ambitious plan to diversify beyond oil into tech, entertainment, tourism, and financial services. The King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) is transforming into a global financial hub, while NEOM and The Line represent the world's most ambitious urban projects. B2B brands in energy, construction, defence, fintech, and government compete for attention in a market backed by sovereign wealth exceeding $900 billion. Professional video content is essential for brands targeting Saudi government and enterprise decision-makers.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Saudi Arabia's B2B audience is undergoing rapid digital transformation — video content on LinkedIn KSA delivers 4x higher engagement than static posts. For Riyadh's energy, construction, and government sectors, a polished corporate film serves ministerial presentations, trade show screens, LinkedIn campaigns, and investor communications. We deliver in every format — from vertical social cuts to 4K broadcast masters — ensuring your production budget works across Arabic and English-speaking channels.

Equipment & Crew

Our Riyadh crews shoot on Sony FX6 and RED Komodo cinema cameras with Zeiss CP.3 and Sony G Master lenses. We carry Aputure 600d lighting, DJI RS3 Pro stabilisers, Sennheiser wireless audio, and DJI Mavic 3 Pro drones (subject to GACA regulations). Every setup is built for Riyadh's desert conditions — managing intense sunlight, sand, and the transitions between outdoor environments and the capital's world-class air-conditioned venues.

Coverage Area

Our crew is based in Riyadh but we cover all of Saudi Arabia — Jeddah, Dammam, NEOM, and the Eastern Province. Multi-city GCC shoots spanning Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain are coordinated from our Riyadh hub, giving you one point of contact, consistent quality, and a single invoice.
