Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Seoul

We filmed a K-beauty supply chain documentary across Gangnam labs and a Seongsu-dong fulfilment centre in a single 16-hour day. Seoul's crew base is technically rigorous in a way that genuinely raises the production bar.

Our regular Seoul workflow covers consumer tech, gaming, and K-beauty. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including COEX — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Seoul expertise

Filming at Seoul's Premier Corporate Venues

Seoul B2B production concentrates around three precincts: COEX in Gangnam for trade-show and conference scale, KINTEX in Goyang for larger industrial exhibitions, and DDP plus a tier of Gangnam hotel ballrooms for executive and KOL formats. Seoul Metropolitan Government film permits run 5 working days; private property requires written consent only.

1. COEX (Convention and Exhibition Center)

Gangnam / Samseong-dong

COEX's Hall A gives 9m clear ceiling with broadcast-grade rigging on a 4m grid and 3-phase 400A per position. For Korea Build, AAR, and pharma congresses we build KOL studios off the show floor with black duvateen on 5m uprights. Acoustically the halls run RT60 ~2.3s open and every KOL is hardwired DPA 4080. The Grand Ballroom (capacity 7,000) adds an 11m ceiling and is our preferred plenary venue. Load-in via the Yeongdong-daero basement dock takes 8 artics; the freight elevator is 4.2m wide. Subway-adjacency at COEX station means crew transit is efficient, which matters in Gangnam traffic where road delays add 45+ minutes.

2. KINTEX (Korea International Exhibition Center)

Goyang / Daehwa-dong

KINTEX Halls 1–10 give 10m clear ceiling with 6m grid rigging and 3-phase 600A. We use it for large-format automotive (Seoul Motor Show) and electronics trade work where COEX is too small. Acoustically the halls run RT60 ~2.8s open. Load-in via the Hallyu-ro service road takes 12 artics simultaneously. The venue is 30km north-west of central Seoul in Goyang — we always pre-stage kit and crew the day before, and the closest hotel cluster is in Daehwa. The Crystal Ballroom adjacent gives a 7.5m conference ceiling for KOL fireside formats with RT60 ~1.0s acoustic treatment.

3. Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP)

Jung-gu / Dongdaemun

DDP's Art Hall 1 and 2 give Zaha Hadid's signature parametric envelope as a built-in B-roll asset for SaaS, DTC, and beauty-adjacent KOL work. Art Hall 1 has a 9m ceiling with rigged points on a 4m grid; Art Hall 2 scales smaller at 6m. Acoustically Art Hall 1 is treated to RT60 ~1.2s. Load-in via the Eulji-ro service entry is constrained: 3.6m dock height and 8-tonne weight limit per truck. Power is 3-phase 200A. The architectural exteriors are a B-roll subject in their own right and we shoot drone plates with KOFA-cleared operators (Seoul-centre flight permissions are tight; book 14 working days ahead).

Korean pharma KOL deliverables for MFDS-aligned audiences require Korean voiceover with name-card supers in both Hangul and English; we shoot credential cutaways as separate 4K ISOs that down-sample cleanly into title supers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring a videographer in Seoul.

Corporate video production in Seoul typically ranges from ₩3,000,000 for a single-camera interview setup to ₩25,000,000+ for a multi-day brand film shoot. Most B2B projects we deliver fall in the ₩5,000,000–₩12,000,000 range, covering pre-production, a full shoot day, and professional post-production. We provide fixed pricing on every quote so there are no surprises on the invoice.
We can mobilise a full production crew in Seoul within 24–48 hours for urgent briefs. Our crew is based locally and covers every major district and venue. For planned shoots we typically schedule 1–2 weeks ahead for proper pre-production and any required permit coordination.
Yes. Commercial filming in Seoul’s public spaces requires permits from the Seoul Film Commission (Seoul Metropolitan Government) and the relevant Gu (district) office. The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) provides additional support for productions. We handle all permit applications in Korean, including coordination with local police, traffic authorities, and venue management. Processing typically takes 1–2 weeks. For handheld filming in public spaces without obstruction, permits may not be required. Our bilingual (English/Korean) production team manages all local logistics for international clients.
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate multi-country shoots for enterprise clients, covering up to 8+ countries per project. Seoul serves as one of our key regional hubs, and we have trusted local crews in every major city worldwide. You get one point of contact, consistent brand quality, and a single consolidated invoice regardless of how many locations are involved.
Every project includes two full rounds of revisions at no extra cost. The first round covers structural edits — pacing, scene order, and content changes. The second round handles fine-tuning — colour grading adjustments, audio levels, text overlays, and final polish. Additional revision rounds can be arranged if needed and are quoted transparently upfront.
We deliver in every format you need. Standard deliverables include high-resolution MP4 (H.264 and H.265) for web and broadcast, plus optimised versions for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and internal platforms. We also provide ProRes masters for archival and further editing. All files delivered via secure cloud transfer within the agreed timeline.

Seoul's Video Production Market

Seoul is South Korea’s capital and one of Asia’s most technologically advanced cities, with an economy driven by technology, electronics, financial services, pharmaceuticals, and entertainment. Gangnam district houses the headquarters of Samsung Electronics, LG, Hyundai, and dozens of major Korean corporations, alongside the Korean operations of global consulting firms and banks. Yeouido is Seoul’s financial centre, home to the Korea Exchange, major securities firms, and the National Assembly. The Pangyo Techno Valley south of Seoul has become Korea’s "Silicon Valley," hosting NHN, Kakao, NCsoft, and hundreds of SaaS and gaming companies. Seoul’s pharmaceutical sector includes Celltrion, Samsung Biologics, and SK Bioscience, alongside the Korean operations of global pharma companies. COEX in Gangnam is one of Asia’s largest convention centres, hosting hundreds of B2B events annually. While Seoul has a massive production industry, most companies focus on K-drama, entertainment, and advertising. The B2B enterprise niche — especially bilingual English/Korean content — remains underserved.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

South Korea is Asia’s fourth-largest economy, and Seoul-based enterprises face unique B2B video challenges: they need to communicate credibly with both domestic Korean audiences and international stakeholders. LinkedIn usage in Korea has been growing rapidly, and for multinationals operating from Seoul, video is the most effective format for reaching professional decision-makers across APAC. Corporate video compounds: a single shoot day produces a brand film, executive interviews, and social clips in Korean and English. The ROI case is strong for Pangyo’s SaaS companies competing globally, and for pharma companies where conference coverage and medical education video are essential in the Korean healthcare market.

Equipment & Crew

We shoot on cinema-grade Sony FX6 and FX9 camera systems paired with Zeiss and Sony G Master prime lenses. For conference work at COEX, KINTEX, and major Seoul hotel venues, we deploy multi-camera rigs with wireless audio systems (Sennheiser EW and DPA lavaliers). Our bilingual (English/Korean) crew consists of a director/camera operator, sound recordist, and production assistant, scaling to five or more. All footage is backed up on-set, and post-production includes Korean and English subtitle and graphics capabilities in-house.

Coverage Area

We cover all of Seoul and the wider Gyeonggi Province without travel surcharges. Regular shooting locations include Gangnam (Samsung HQ and COEX area), Yeouido (financial district), Jongno and Jung-gu (traditional CBD), Mapo (Hongdae creative district), and Seongnam/Pangyo (Techno Valley tech hub). We cover COEX, KINTEX in Ilsan, the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, the JW Marriott Dongdaemun, and the Lotte Hotel. Beyond Seoul, we serve clients in Incheon (Songdo International Business District), Suwon (Samsung’s R&D campus), and Daejeon (the science city). For APAC projects, we coordinate crews in Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Sydney.
