Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Zurich

We shot a private-bank executive series in a Paradeplatz boardroom, then captured a reinsurance leadership panel at The Circle the same week. Zurich productions reward discretion: clients here notice the crews who keep camera kit out of public-facing space.

Our regular Zurich workflow covers banking, pharma, and reinsurance. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including The Circle at Zurich Airport — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Zurich expertise

Filming at Zurich's Premier Corporate Venues

Zurich's B2B production scene is shaped by three venues: Hallenstadion in Oerlikon for arena-format keynote work, Kongresshaus on the Zürichsee for conference and pharma KOL formats, and a tier of finance-district venues in Paradeplatz and Enge for executive interview content. Stadt Zürich permits run 10 working days; cantonal Zug and Schwyz crossover work requires separate filing.

1. Kongresshaus Zürich

Enge / Mythenquai

Kongresshaus reopened after a major renovation that gave the Gartensaal and Tonhallesaal broadcast-grade acoustic treatment (RT60 ~1.1s) and full lake-facing glazing. We use it for finance, pharma, and Swissmedic-aligned KOL work. Ceiling in the Gartensaal is 7.4m with a fully-rigged grid; the Tonhallesaal adds a 12m proscenium height. Load-in via the General-Guisan-Quai service entry is restricted to 3.8m dock height. Power is 3-phase 200A per position. The lake B-roll plate at golden hour (Lake Zurich, Mythenquai, the Alps on a clear morning) is reliable from May through September; we always shoot a 4K UHD plate as a standard cutaway insert.

2. Hallenstadion

Oerlikon

Hallenstadion gives an 11,200-seat bowl with a 28m ceiling and broadcast-grade rigging on a 1.5m grid. We use it for large-format corporate keynote work where Kongresshaus is too small. Acoustically the bowl runs RT60 ~2.4s; the in-house Meyer Sound rig is well-tuned and we tap FOH at -10 dBu. Load-in via the Wallisellenstrasse dock takes 4 artics with no time restriction. Power is 3-phase 600A per position. For pharma KOL plenaries at this scale we always run a separate small studio off the green-room corridor (RT60 ~0.7s) for intro inserts and one-on-one HCP-facing cutaways.

3. The Dolder Grand

Adlisberg / Hottingen

The Dolder Grand's Maestro Ballroom gives a 6.2m ceiling with rigged points on a 3m grid and an elevation that puts the venue above Zurich's lake basin with reliable B-roll plates of the city and Alps. We use it for finance and pharma KOL executive content where the venue aesthetic itself is a brand asset. Acoustically the ballroom is warm (RT60 ~0.9s) and runs clean DPA 6066s. Load-in via the Kurhausstrasse hairpin is the constraint — vehicles above 7.5 tonnes cannot make the turn, so we split kit across two Sprinter vans rather than a single grip truck. Power is 3-phase 125A per ballroom.

Swiss pharma KOL releases for FOPH or Swissmedic-aligned audiences need German and French language passes mixed to EBU R128 -23 LUFS integrated; Italian for Ticino-region distribution is an optional but increasingly common add.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring a videographer in Zurich.

Corporate video production in Zurich typically ranges from CHF 5,000 for a single-camera interview setup to CHF 30,000+ for a multi-day brand film shoot. Most B2B projects we deliver fall in the CHF 8,000–CHF 18,000 range, covering pre-production, a full shoot day, and professional post-production. We provide fixed pricing on every quote so there are no surprises on the invoice.
We can mobilise a full production crew in Zurich within 24–48 hours for urgent briefs. Our crew is based locally and covers every major district and venue. For planned shoots we typically schedule 1–2 weeks ahead for proper pre-production and any required permit coordination.
Yes. Commercial filming in Zurich’s public spaces requires a permit from the Stadt Zürich (City of Zurich) through the relevant department. We handle all permit applications including coordination with the Stadtpolizei for traffic measures and liability insurance documentation. For small crews with handheld equipment, filming on public streets generally does not require a formal permit. Processing times are typically 1–2 weeks. Switzerland’s cantonal system means regulations vary by location, and we coordinate with both city and cantonal authorities as needed.
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate multi-country shoots for enterprise clients, covering up to 8+ countries per project. Zurich serves as one of our key regional hubs, and we have trusted local crews in every major city worldwide. You get one point of contact, consistent brand quality, and a single consolidated invoice regardless of how many locations are involved.
Every project includes two full rounds of revisions at no extra cost. The first round covers structural edits — pacing, scene order, and content changes. The second round handles fine-tuning — colour grading adjustments, audio levels, text overlays, and final polish. Additional revision rounds can be arranged if needed and are quoted transparently upfront.
We deliver in every format you need. Standard deliverables include high-resolution MP4 (H.264 and H.265) for web and broadcast, plus optimised versions for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and internal platforms. We also provide ProRes masters for archival and further editing. All files delivered via secure cloud transfer within the agreed timeline.

Zurich's Video Production Market

Zurich is Switzerland’s largest city and one of the world’s most important financial centres, home to UBS, Credit Suisse (now part of UBS), Swiss Re, Zurich Insurance Group, and the Swiss National Bank. The Paradeplatz district and Bahnhofstrasse form the epicentre of Swiss banking, with global private banks, asset managers, and wealth management firms lining some of the world’s most valuable commercial real estate. Zurich’s economy extends well beyond finance: the city is a growing technology hub with Google’s largest engineering centre outside California located in the Europaallee district, alongside a thriving startup ecosystem supported by ETH Zurich. The pharmaceutical and life sciences sector is critical to the Swiss economy, with the Bio-Technopark Zürich in Schlieren and proximity to the Basel pharma cluster (Roche, Novartis) creating demand for medical conference coverage and pharma brand content. Zurich hosts B2B events at the Kongresshaus, the Dolder Grand, and the Messe Zürich. Most Zurich production companies focus on luxury, lifestyle, and tourism content, leaving the B2B enterprise niche underserved despite the city’s extraordinary concentration of corporate headquarters.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Zurich’s concentration of high-net-worth financial institutions and multinational headquarters makes it one of the world’s most valuable B2B markets per capita. Professional video is essential for competing in this environment. LinkedIn penetration in Switzerland is among the highest in Europe, and video content drives 5x more engagement. For private banks, insurers, and wealth managers, polished video builds the credibility and discretion their clients expect. A single shoot day produces a brand film, executive interviews, and social clips in German, English, and French. The ROI case is strong for Zurich’s growing tech sector around Google and ETH Zurich, where product demos and customer testimonials drive enterprise sales across the DACH region and beyond.

Equipment & Crew

We shoot on cinema-grade Sony FX6 and FX9 camera systems paired with Zeiss and Sony G Master prime lenses, delivering the quality Zurich’s premium market demands. For conference work at the Kongresshaus, the Dolder Grand, and Messe Zürich, we deploy multi-camera rigs with wireless Sennheiser EW and DPA lavalier audio systems. Our standard Zurich crew consists of a director/camera operator, sound recordist, and production assistant. All footage is backed up on-set, and post-production includes German, English, and French subtitle capabilities in-house.

Coverage Area

We cover all of Zurich and the wider German-speaking Switzerland region. Regular shooting locations include the Paradeplatz and Bahnhofstrasse financial district, Zurich West (the creative and tech hub around Viadukt and Hardbruecke), Europaallee (Google’s engineering centre), Oerlikon, and Schlieren (Bio-Technopark). We cover major venues including the Kongresshaus, the Dolder Grand, the Zurich Marriott, Messe Zürich, and the Hallenstadion. Beyond Zurich, we serve clients in Zug (the crypto and fintech hub), Winterthur, Baden, Basel (pharma corridor), Bern, and Lucerne. For pan-European projects, we coordinate crews across the continent from our Swiss base.
