Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Barcelona

We crewed Mobile World Congress 2025 across two Fira halls, then ran an executive interview studio in a Poblenou warehouse for the rest of the week. Few cities offer the architectural variety you can fit into a single drive.

Our regular Barcelona workflow covers MWC, healthtech, and design. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including Fira Gran Via — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Barcelona expertise

Filming at Barcelona's Premier Corporate Venues

Barcelona B2B production concentrates around three precincts: Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet for MWC and ISE scale, the CCIB on the seafront for medical congresses, and a tier of central venues in the Eixample and Born for executive and KOL formats. Ajuntament de Barcelona permits run 10 working days; commercial filming on public beaches requires a separate Bienes y Servicios permit.

1. Fira Barcelona Gran Via

L'Hospitalet de Llobregat

Gran Via Hall 8 gives 11m clear ceiling with a 50t-rated 6m grid and 3-phase 400A in 12 positions. For MWC and ISE-aligned productions we build KOL studios off the show floor inside Hall 7 using black duvateen on 5m uprights — the venue's concrete shell rings at RT60 ~2.6s, so all KOL audio is on hardwired DPA 4080s with redundant ISO. Load-in via the Ronda del Litoral runs to 16 artic bays. Acoustically the upper auditoriums are treated (RT60 ~1.1s) and we capture clean off-axis lavs. The venue's house Dante audio network is reliable and we patch in for redundant capture.

2. Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona (CCIB)

Diagonal Mar / Sant Martí

CCIB's main auditorium seats 3,140 with a 12m proscenium ceiling and broadcast-grade rigging. For ESMO, EHA, and other oncology congresses we deliver multi-day KOL capture across the main hall and breakout rooms. Acoustically the auditorium is treated to RT60 ~1.0s and runs clean off-axis lavs even at podium distance. Load-in via the Rambla Prim service road takes 6 artics. Power is 3-phase 250A per position. The Plenary North breakout room is our preferred KOL fireside venue — RT60 ~0.8s, integrated 4K PTZ camera tie-in, and house Sennheiser EW-DX wireless we sync for backup against our own Wisycom MTPs.

3. Palau de Congressos de Catalunya

Pedralbes / Les Corts

Palau de Congressos's Auditori 1 seats 2,000 with an 8m proscenium ceiling and a more intimate scale than CCIB. We use it for finance and pharma KOL events where the smaller footprint reads more premium on camera. Acoustic treatment is professional (RT60 ~1.1s) and the house line array (L-Acoustics K2) is well-tuned. Load-in via Avinguda Diagonal is constrained to 4m dock height and 7.5 tonnes per truck. Power is 3-phase 125A per position. The venue's foyer space gives a strong B-roll backdrop in the natural light of the Pedralbes hillside, and we typically shoot KOL approach shots at 50mm full-frame in the late morning.

Catalan-language deliverables for any KOL content destined for AEMPS-aligned medical audiences need a separate AVT pass with translation locked to time-code; we cost this in as a non-negotiable on every Barcelona pharma project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring a videographer in Barcelona.

Corporate video production in Barcelona typically ranges from €2,500 for a single-camera interview setup to €20,000+ for a multi-day brand film shoot. Most B2B projects we deliver fall in the €5,000–€12,000 range, covering pre-production, a full shoot day, and professional post-production. We provide fixed pricing on every quote so there are no surprises on the invoice.
We can mobilise a full production crew in Barcelona within 24–48 hours for urgent briefs. Our crew is based locally and covers every major district and venue. For planned shoots we typically schedule 1–2 weeks ahead for proper pre-production and any required permit coordination.
Yes. Commercial filming in Barcelona requires permits from the Barcelona Film Commission (Barcelona Film Office), which operates under the city council. For shoots on public streets, a filming permit (permis de rodatge) must be requested at least 15 working days in advance. Small crews with handheld equipment may be exempt from formal permits. The Barcelona Film Commission facilitates location access and coordinates with Guardia Urbana (city police) for traffic management. We handle all applications, insurance documentation, and liaison with district authorities on your behalf. For shoots at Fira Barcelona or the CCIB, separate venue permissions are arranged directly through the venue.
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate multi-country shoots for enterprise clients, covering up to 8+ countries per project. Barcelona serves as one of our key regional hubs, and we have trusted local crews in every major city worldwide. You get one point of contact, consistent brand quality, and a single consolidated invoice regardless of how many locations are involved.
Every project includes two full rounds of revisions at no extra cost. The first round covers structural edits — pacing, scene order, and content changes. The second round handles fine-tuning — colour grading adjustments, audio levels, text overlays, and final polish. Additional revision rounds can be arranged if needed and are quoted transparently upfront.
We deliver in every format you need. Standard deliverables include high-resolution MP4 (H.264 and H.265) for web and broadcast, plus optimised versions for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and internal platforms. We also provide ProRes masters for archival and further editing. All files delivered via secure cloud transfer within the agreed timeline.

Barcelona's Video Production Market

Barcelona is Spain’s second-largest city and one of Southern Europe’s most dynamic business hubs, with a rapidly growing economy built on technology, life sciences, tourism, and creative industries. The 22@ innovation district in Poblenou has transformed a former industrial zone into one of Europe’s most vibrant tech clusters, housing the offices of Amazon, Facebook, Cisco, and King alongside hundreds of SaaS startups and scale-ups. Barcelona’s position as the Mobile World Capital — hosting MWC, the world’s largest mobile and technology conference, annually at Fira Barcelona Gran Via — has cemented its reputation as a global tech hub. The city’s pharmaceutical and life sciences sector is significant, with the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), Hospital Clínic, and companies like Grifols, Almirall, and Esteve headquartered in the wider Catalonia region. Diagonal and Eixample form the traditional corporate corridor, hosting international law firms, consulting companies, and financial institutions. Barcelona hosts over 200 major conferences annually at Fira Barcelona (Gran Via and Montjuïc), the CCIB (Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona), and dozens of hotel venues. While Barcelona has a thriving creative industry, most production companies focus on advertising, fashion, and entertainment. The B2B enterprise niche is underserved, especially for English-language content targeting international audiences.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Barcelona’s emergence as a European tech capital has created surging demand for professional B2B video content. LinkedIn is the primary professional platform in Spain, and video posts generate 5x more engagement than text. For tech companies in the 22@ district competing for international talent and enterprise clients, professional video establishes credibility that resonates across European markets. Barcelona’s unique advantage is its ability to produce content that works across multiple markets — the city’s international workforce means shoots naturally accommodate English, Spanish, and Catalan. A single shoot day at your 22@ office can produce a brand film, executive interviews, 6–10 social clips, and internal content. The ROI case is strong for MWC exhibitors and sponsors who need pre-event promotion, on-site coverage, and post-event content packages that extend the value of their conference investment throughout the year.

Equipment & Crew

We shoot on cinema-grade Sony FX6 and FX9 camera systems paired with Zeiss and Sony G Master prime lenses, delivering the visual quality that Barcelona’s international corporate market demands. For conference and event work at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, the CCIB, the W Barcelona, and the Hilton Diagonal Mar, we deploy multi-camera rigs with wireless audio systems (Sennheiser EW and DPA lavaliers). Our standard Barcelona crew consists of a director/camera operator, sound recordist, and production assistant, scaling to five or more. Barcelona’s Mediterranean light provides excellent natural conditions for outdoor corporate shoots, and we carry ND filters and diffusion for controlling bright conditions. All footage is backed up on-set, and post-production includes English, Spanish, and Catalan subtitle capabilities in-house.

Coverage Area

We cover all of Barcelona and the wider Catalonia region without travel surcharges. Our regular shooting locations include the 22@ innovation district (Poblenou), Diagonal (the corporate corridor), Eixample (the grid district housing professional services firms), the Gothic Quarter and Born (boutique offices and creative companies), and Sant Cugat del Vallès (home to many multinational headquarters including HP and Nestlé). We cover Barcelona’s major conference venues including Fira Barcelona Gran Via (home of MWC), Fira Montjuïc, the CCIB in the Forum district, the W Barcelona, the Hilton Diagonal Mar, and the Hotel Arts. Beyond Barcelona, we serve clients in Tarragona (chemical and energy corridor), Girona, and the Vallès technology corridor. For pan-European projects, we coordinate crews in Madrid, Lisbon, Milan, Paris, and London.
