Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Madrid

We covered FITUR across two IFEMA halls and ran an executive interview studio in a Castellana tower the same week. Madrid in May is the rare combination of bright skies, comfortable temperatures, and a crew calendar that has not yet filled.

Our regular Madrid workflow covers banking, telco, and Iberian HQs. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including IFEMA — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Madrid expertise

Filming at Madrid's Premier Corporate Venues

Madrid B2B production concentrates around three precincts: IFEMA at Campo de las Naciones for FITUR and trade-show scale, the Palacio de Congresos and Casino de Madrid for finance and pharma KOL formats, and a tier of central venues in Salamanca and Chamberí for executive interview content. Ayuntamiento de Madrid permits run 15 working days; Comunidad de Madrid film office handles regional crossover.

1. IFEMA Madrid (Pabellón 14)

Hortaleza / Campo de las Naciones

IFEMA's Pabellón 14 gives 13m clear ceiling with 50t-rated rigging on a 6m grid and 3-phase 400A in 12 positions. For SIMA, FITUR, and pharma congresses (including periodic ESMO satellite events) we build KOL studios off the show floor with duvateen on 5m uprights. Acoustically the halls run RT60 ~2.6s open — every KOL is hardwired DPA 4080 with redundant ISO. Load-in via the Avenida del Partenón service road runs to 16 artic bays with 24-hour access. The North Convention Centre (formerly Palacio Municipal) gives a 9m conference ceiling and we use it for HCP-facing breakout work — RT60 ~1.1s, professional acoustic treatment.

2. Palacio de Congresos Príncipe Felipe / IFEMA Convention Center

Castellana corridor

The Palacio de Congresos on Paseo de la Castellana (now operating under IFEMA management) gives a 1970s auditorium with 8m proscenium height seating 1,800. Acoustically the room is treated to RT60 ~1.2s. We use it primarily for finance KOL plenaries and pharma HCP-facing congresses where the central location is a logistical advantage. Load-in via the Castellana service entry is restricted to 3.5m dock height and 7.5 tonnes per truck. Power is 3-phase 200A. The integrated 4K SDI patch infrastructure lets us tie into the gallery for redundant multicam without running fresh cable through the listed façade corridors.

3. Casino de Madrid

Salamanca / Centro

Casino de Madrid's Salón Real gives a 1910 Beaux-Arts aesthetic that reads premium on camera for finance and pharma KOL fireside content. Ceiling is 7.2m at the painted dome — we frame talent against the wall mouldings rather than the dome and lay flags to control specular reflection off the gilt. Acoustically the room is bright (RT60 ~1.6s on marble and plaster) and we always run tight cardioids and lay sound blankets. Load-in via Calle Alcalá is constrained: no dedicated dock, freight elevator at 1.9m wide, and a 30-minute loading zone permit only. Power is single-phase 32A per circuit; we always tie in a 3-phase shore feed for any package above 6kW.

Spanish-market pharma KOL deliverables for AEMPS-aligned audiences require Castilian Spanish voiceover with optional Catalan and Basque regional passes; all mixed to EBU R128 -23 LUFS integrated for broadcast and -16 LUFS LKFS for digital.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring a videographer in Madrid.

Corporate video production in Madrid typically ranges from €2,500 for a single-camera interview setup to €20,000+ for a multi-day brand film shoot. Most B2B projects we deliver fall in the €5,000–€12,000 range, covering pre-production, a full shoot day, and professional post-production. We provide fixed pricing on every quote so there are no surprises on the invoice.
We can mobilise a full production crew in Madrid within 24–48 hours for urgent briefs. Our crew is based locally and covers every major district and venue. For planned shoots we typically schedule 1–2 weeks ahead for proper pre-production and any required permit coordination.
Yes. Commercial filming in Madrid requires permits from the Madrid Film Office (Oficina del Film de Madrid), coordinated through the city council. Applications must be submitted at least 10 working days in advance. Small crews with handheld equipment on public streets may film without a formal permit if there is no obstruction. For shoots involving equipment setup, road closures, or iconic locations, the Madrid Film Office coordinates with Policia Municipal and the relevant district authority. We handle all applications, insurance documentation, and municipal liaison on your behalf. Shoots at IFEMA or private venues require separate venue permissions.
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate multi-country shoots for enterprise clients, covering up to 8+ countries per project. Madrid serves as one of our key regional hubs, and we have trusted local crews in every major city worldwide. You get one point of contact, consistent brand quality, and a single consolidated invoice regardless of how many locations are involved.
Every project includes two full rounds of revisions at no extra cost. The first round covers structural edits — pacing, scene order, and content changes. The second round handles fine-tuning — colour grading adjustments, audio levels, text overlays, and final polish. Additional revision rounds can be arranged if needed and are quoted transparently upfront.
We deliver in every format you need. Standard deliverables include high-resolution MP4 (H.264 and H.265) for web and broadcast, plus optimised versions for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and internal platforms. We also provide ProRes masters for archival and further editing. All files delivered via secure cloud transfer within the agreed timeline.

Madrid's Video Production Market

Madrid is Spain’s capital and largest city, serving as the political, economic, and financial heart of the Iberian Peninsula. The Paseo de la Castellana is the city’s primary corporate corridor, stretching north from Atocha through the financial district around Azca and the CTBA (Cuatro Torres Business Area), housing the headquarters of Santander, BBVA, Telefónica, Repsol, Iberdrola, and Inditex’s Madrid offices. Madrid’s technology sector is growing rapidly, with major investments from Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure establishing cloud regions in the city, alongside a thriving local startup ecosystem. The pharmaceutical sector is significant, with companies like PharmaMar, CINFA, and the Spanish operations of Pfizer, Roche, and Novartis headquartered in the wider Madrid region. IFEMA Madrid is one of Europe’s largest exhibition and convention centres, hosting FITUR, South Summit, and hundreds of B2B events annually. While Madrid has a strong production industry, most companies focus on advertising, entertainment, and television, leaving the B2B enterprise niche underserved.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Madrid’s position as the business capital of the Spanish-speaking world gives B2B video content produced here extraordinary reach. LinkedIn is the dominant professional platform in Spain with over 18 million users, and video posts generate 5x more engagement than text. For enterprises on the Castellana competing across European and Latin American markets, professional video builds authority across linguistic and cultural boundaries. A single shoot day produces a brand film, executive interviews, and social clips in both Spanish and English. The ROI case is strong for IFEMA exhibitors, for the growing cloud and SaaS sector competing for pan-European enterprise clients, and for pharma companies where conference coverage and medical education video are essential.

Equipment & Crew

We shoot on cinema-grade Sony FX6 and FX9 camera systems paired with Zeiss and Sony G Master prime lenses. For conference and event work at IFEMA Madrid, the Palacio Municipal de Congresos, and major hotel venues, we deploy multi-camera rigs with wireless audio systems (Sennheiser EW and DPA lavaliers). Our standard Madrid crew consists of a director/camera operator, sound recordist, and production assistant. Madrid’s excellent natural light provides ideal conditions for outdoor corporate shoots. All footage is backed up on-set, and post-production includes Spanish and English subtitle and graphics capabilities in-house.

Coverage Area

We cover all of Madrid and the wider Community of Madrid without travel surcharges. Regular shooting locations include the Paseo de la Castellana, Azca, the CTBA (Cuatro Torres), Salamanca, Chamartín, Las Tablas (home to Telefónica and BBVA campuses), and Tres Cantos (tech and pharma hub). We cover IFEMA Madrid, the Palacio Municipal de Congresos, the Marriott Auditorium, and the NH Collection Eurobuilding. Beyond Madrid, we serve clients in Toledo, Guadalajara, and coordinate crews in Barcelona, Lisbon, and across Europe.
