Field notes

What it is like to shoot in Frankfurt

We crewed Automechanika across four Messe halls, then captured executive interviews with two asset managers in their Bankenviertel offices. Frankfurt productions reward crews who can switch between corporate restraint and trade-show energy on the same day.

Our regular Frankfurt workflow covers banking, asset management, and trade shows. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including Messe Frankfurt — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Frankfurt expertise

Filming at Frankfurt's Premier Corporate Venues

Frankfurt's B2B production scene is dominated by Messe Frankfurt and a tier of finance-district venues. Three venues cover the majority of corporate, automotive, and pharma KOL work in the city. Stadt Frankfurt permits run 10 working days for public space; financial-district interior work usually requires building-management security clearance only.

1. Messe Frankfurt

Bockenheim / Westend

Messe Frankfurt's Hall 11 and the Festhalle cover most large-format work. Hall 11 gives 11m clear ceiling with 6m grid rigging and 3-phase 400A per position; the Festhalle scales to 13,500 seats under a domed historic envelope. For IAA Mobility and Automechanika satellite events we build KOL studios off the show floor with black duvateen on 5m uprights. Acoustically the halls run RT60 ~2.5s — we never rely on ambient. The Forum (Halle 3) gives a 9m conference ceiling and is our preferred KOL fireside venue. Load-in via Brüsseler Straße runs to 12 artic bays with 24-hour access during bump-in.

2. Kap Europa

Gallus / Europaviertel

Kap Europa is Messe Frankfurt's purpose-built conference centre with a 9m ceiling in the Helena Rubinstein room and broadcast-grade acoustic treatment (RT60 ~1.0s). We use it for pharma HCP advisory boards and finance KOL fireside formats where the trade-show scale of the main Messe is inappropriate. Load-in via the Osloer Straße dock is efficient with two dedicated bays. Power is 3-phase 250A per position. The integrated 4K PTZ camera package and house Sennheiser EW-DX wireless lets us tie in for redundant capture against our own Wisycom MTP chains. The venue's foyer gives strong daylight B-roll at the south face for executive intros at midday.

3. Jahrhunderthalle

Höchst

Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt-Höchst (originally built for Hoechst AG, a meaningful detail for any pharma client) gives an 11m domed ceiling and seats 4,800. We use it for pharma KOL plenaries and finance large-format keynotes. Acoustically the dome rings at RT60 ~2.4s on speech — we always run tight cardioids on lecterns and tap FOH at -10 dBu rather than capturing ambient. Load-in via Pfaffenwiese is the constraint: the venue is in Frankfurt-Höchst, 12km west of the city centre, and we always pre-stage kit the day before. Power is 3-phase 300A per position. The architectural envelope is a strong B-roll subject in itself.

All Frankfurt pharma KOL content destined for BfArM or EMA-aligned audiences requires a documented chain of custody on raw audio and a GDPR-compliant data flow on talent releases; we deliver both as standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about hiring a videographer in Frankfurt.

Corporate video production in Frankfurt typically ranges from €3,000 for a single-camera interview setup to €22,000+ for a multi-day brand film shoot. Most B2B projects we deliver fall in the €5,500–€13,000 range, covering pre-production, a full shoot day, and professional post-production. We provide fixed pricing on every quote so there are no surprises on the invoice.
We can mobilise a full production crew in Frankfurt within 24–48 hours for urgent briefs. Our crew is based locally and covers every major district and venue. For planned shoots we typically schedule 1–2 weeks ahead for proper pre-production and any required permit coordination.
Yes. Commercial filming on public property in Frankfurt requires a permit from the Ordnungsamt (public order office) and coordination with the relevant Stadtbezirk. The Frankfurt Rhine-Main Film Commission supports productions and facilitates location access. We handle all permit applications, traffic management plans, and insurance documentation on your behalf, with typical processing times of 1–3 weeks. For handheld filming without obstruction, permits are generally not required. Shoots at Messe Frankfurt or the ECB require separate venue-specific permissions.
Absolutely. We regularly coordinate multi-country shoots for enterprise clients, covering up to 8+ countries per project. Frankfurt serves as one of our key regional hubs, and we have trusted local crews in every major city worldwide. You get one point of contact, consistent brand quality, and a single consolidated invoice regardless of how many locations are involved.
Every project includes two full rounds of revisions at no extra cost. The first round covers structural edits — pacing, scene order, and content changes. The second round handles fine-tuning — colour grading adjustments, audio levels, text overlays, and final polish. Additional revision rounds can be arranged if needed and are quoted transparently upfront.
We deliver in every format you need. Standard deliverables include high-resolution MP4 (H.264 and H.265) for web and broadcast, plus optimised versions for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and internal platforms. We also provide ProRes masters for archival and further editing. All files delivered via secure cloud transfer within the agreed timeline.

Frankfurt's Video Production Market

Frankfurt is Germany’s financial capital and continental Europe’s most important banking city, home to the European Central Bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The Bankenviertel (banking district) and Westend form the heart of the city’s corporate landscape, with dozens of international banks, asset managers, and financial services firms clustered in the skyline towers that give Frankfurt its "Mainhattan" nickname. Frankfurt’s economy extends well beyond finance: the city is a major hub for pharmaceuticals (Sanofi Germany is headquartered in nearby Hoechst), consulting, logistics (Frankfurt Airport is Europe’s fourth busiest), and increasingly technology with a growing fintech scene. Messe Frankfurt is one of the world’s largest trade fair grounds, hosting over 50 major B2B events annually including the Frankfurt Book Fair, Automechanika, and Light + Building. Eschborn and Offenbach serve as satellite office districts housing the German headquarters of international corporations. Most Frankfurt production companies focus on advertising and commercial content, leaving the B2B enterprise niche underserved despite the city’s enormous concentration of financial and corporate clients.

Why Professional Video Delivers ROI

Frankfurt’s unique concentration of financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and corporate headquarters creates intense demand for professional B2B video content. LinkedIn is the dominant professional platform in Germany’s DACH region, and video posts generate 5x more engagement than text. For banks, asset managers, and fintech companies competing from Frankfurt, professional video builds the trust and authority that institutional clients expect. Corporate video compounds: a single shoot day at your Bankenviertel tower or Westend office produces a brand film, executive interviews, social clips, and compliance-grade internal communications content. The ROI case is particularly strong for Messe Frankfurt exhibitors who need pre-event promotion, on-site coverage, and post-event content extending their trade fair investment. For pharma companies in the Rhine-Main region, medical education video and conference coverage are essential.

Equipment & Crew

We shoot on cinema-grade Sony FX6 and FX9 camera systems paired with Zeiss lenses — headquartered nearby in Oberkochen. For conference work at Messe Frankfurt, Kap Europa, the Maritim Hotel, and the Congress Center, we deploy multi-camera rigs with wireless audio systems (Sennheiser EW and DPA lavaliers). Our standard Frankfurt crew consists of a director/camera operator, sound recordist, and production assistant, scaling to five or more. All footage is backed up on-set to redundant drives, and post-production includes German and English subtitle and graphics capabilities in-house.

Coverage Area

We cover all of Frankfurt and the wider Rhine-Main metropolitan region without travel surcharges. Regular shooting locations include the Bankenviertel, Westend, Sachsenhausen, Bockenheim, and the Europaviertel around Messe Frankfurt. Key business areas include Eschborn, Offenbach, Bad Homburg (Fresenius and SGL Carbon headquarters), Darmstadt (Merck KGaA and the GSI research centre), and Wiesbaden. We cover major event venues including Messe Frankfurt, Kap Europa, the Congress Center, the Maritim Hotel, and Frankfurt Airport’s conference facilities. For pan-German projects, we coordinate crews in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, and Cologne.
