Field notes
We filmed a DTC brand film across Century City, Silver Lake, and a Malibu beach hero shot in a single 14-hour shoot day. LA permits favour crews who can show insurance and a single production company name on the application.
Our regular Los Angeles workflow covers entertainment tech and DTC. We crew with a local production assistant, a dedicated sound recordist, and a lighting team that knows the venues — including Los Angeles Convention Center — well enough to walk in cold and still finish on time.

Los Angeles expertise
LA B2B production sits across three poles: the LA Convention Center for downtown conference scale, the Hollywood and West LA studio belt for executive interview and KOL work, and Santa Monica plus Culver City for SaaS and DTC launch events. FilmLA permits run 4 working days for static interior; the City of Beverly Hills and Culver City run separate permit jurisdictions with their own lead times.
LACC's South and West Halls give 9m of clear ceiling with a 12m rigging height in West Hall A. For E3-legacy and AnitaB.org-style productions we've built broadcast-format KOL studios on the West Hall north corner using duvateen on 4m frames. Acoustically the halls run RT60 ~2.5s unoccupied — every KOL is on a wired DPA 4080 or a Wisycom MTP41 with redundant ISO to Sound Devices. Load-in via the Pico Boulevard dock takes 10 artics; downtown traffic windows mean we always schedule kit arrival before 6am or after 8pm. Power is 3-phase 400A per position. The venue's house Crestron AV is reliable; we patch in for FOH redundancy.
The Reef's penthouse (formerly LA Mart top floor) gives a 5.4m ceiling, full downtown skyline glazing, and a freight elevator at 3.2m wide that takes a 12-foot jib in one piece. We shoot fintech and DTC keynote content here regularly — the glass walls create polarization challenges at golden hour, so we shoot a 1/4 CTO key and meter for the LA skyline highlights at sunset. Acoustically the room is bright (RT60 ~1.1s on bare hardwood) and we always lay down sound blankets behind camera and under talent. Power is 3-phase 200A in two positions. Load-in is via Broadway with a 24-hour notice and a single dedicated dock.
The Palladium gives a 10m clear ceiling with a fully-rigged broadcast grid that lets us tie into the in-house line array and AV control rather than building parallel infrastructure. We use it for music-industry and DTC keynote work where stage presence drives the format. Acoustically the room is bowl-shaped (RT60 ~1.8s with full audience) and the in-house Meyer Sound rig is well-tuned — we capture FOH at -10 dBu and an ambient pair for room tone. Load-in via Argyle Avenue takes two artics; the rolling door is 4.2m wide. Power is 3-phase 250A. For KOL or executive intro inserts shot pre-show, we use the green room (acoustically dead, RT60 ~0.6s) rather than the main bowl.
LA daylight color temperature shifts dramatically across the downtown/west-side axis between 4–6pm; we always shoot any cross-city B-roll for a single deliverable within a 90-minute window to keep DI grading consistent.

Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world, but it is also a major centre for technology, aerospace, biotech, and financial services that drives enormous demand for B2B video content. The "Silicon Beach" corridor stretching from Santa Monica through Venice to Playa Vista houses the offices of Google, Snap, Hulu, and hundreds of SaaS startups, alongside established tech firms in El Segundo and Culver City. Downtown LA has undergone a corporate renaissance, with the Financial District on Bunker Hill hosting major law firms, banks, and consulting companies. Century City serves as a hub for entertainment, private equity, and professional services firms. The biotech and pharmaceutical sector is growing around the USC Health Sciences Campus and the Cedars-Sinai medical complex. LA hosts major B2B conferences at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Beverly Hilton, JW Marriott LA Live, and dozens of hotel venues across the Westside. Despite being the world’s largest production market, most LA companies focus on entertainment, commercials, and consumer content. The B2B enterprise niche is paradoxically underserved in a city overflowing with creative talent.
Los Angeles’s B2B market is larger than many people realise. Beyond entertainment, the city’s technology, aerospace, healthcare, and professional services sectors employ millions of professionals who are active on LinkedIn and responsive to video content. Video posts generate 5x more engagement than text on LinkedIn, and in a market as visually sophisticated as LA, production quality expectations are exceptionally high. A single shoot day at your Century City office or Santa Monica campus can produce a brand film, executive interviews, 6–10 social clips, and internal communications content, multiplying your return on every dollar. For Silicon Beach SaaS companies competing against Bay Area rivals, professional video establishes credibility and brand authority that levels the playing field. LA’s biotech sector also benefits from conference coverage and medical education content as the industry grows around USC and Cedars-Sinai.
We shoot on cinema-grade Sony FX6 and FX9 camera systems paired with Zeiss and Sony G Master prime lenses, delivering the production quality that Los Angeles’s discerning corporate market demands. For conference and event work at the LA Convention Center, the Beverly Hilton, JW Marriott LA Live, and the Westin Bonaventure, we deploy multi-camera rigs with wireless audio systems (Sennheiser EW and DPA lavaliers). Our standard LA crew consists of a director/camera operator, sound recordist, and production assistant, scaling to five or more. LA’s legendary natural light and year-round sunshine make it ideal for outdoor corporate shoots, and we carry ND filters, diffusion, and portable LED panels for controlling the bright California light. All footage is backed up on-set to redundant drives, and post-production is handled in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro.
We cover all of Los Angeles County and the wider Southern California region. Our regular shooting locations include Downtown LA (Financial District, Arts District, LA Live), Century City, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and the Silicon Beach tech corridor, Culver City, Playa Vista, El Segundo, Burbank (home to Disney, Warner Bros., and major media companies), and Pasadena (Caltech and JPL corridor). We cover LA’s major conference venues including the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Beverly Hilton, JW Marriott at LA Live, the Westin Bonaventure, and the Langham Huntington in Pasadena. Beyond the city, we serve clients in Orange County (Irvine’s tech and pharma corridor), San Diego, and the Inland Empire. No travel surcharges within LA County.
